Professional background
Déborah Salafranca Vázquez is the Director of CIFAL Málaga-UNITAR, the International Training Centre for Public Officials and Leaders, appointed by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research.
Having been involved in this project since its inception in 2018, she has helped establish the centre as a strategic hub for global training.
A graduate in Economics from the University of Málaga, where she lectures in Economic Policy and International Cooperation, Déborah holds a Master’s degree in International Cooperation, an MBA and has a proven track record as an international relations consultant.
Her experience spans both the public and private sectors, specialising in quality and environmental management systems, strategic urban planning and the implementation of the SDGs.
Particularly noteworthy is her leadership and involvement in projects funded by the European Commission, addressing critical challenges to security and social cohesion.
Her technical expertise includes the prevention of violent radicalisation, the detection of hate speech and the fight against environmental crime.
She has also managed projects related to the promotion of democratic values among European youth, interfaith coexistence and fostering a more critical and engaged citizenry.
Under her leadership, CIFAL Málaga acts as a bridge between academia, public administration and sustainability, transforming specialist knowledge into practical tools so that authorities and leaders worldwide can build safer, more resilient and equitable societies.
